Gallery

On April 8, 1929, Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt throw two bombs into the chamber of the Central Legislative, while it was in session.

Bhagat Singh and Dutt shout “Inquilab Zindabad!” and “Down with British Imperialism!”, throwing copies of a leaflet (shown in image) into the Assembly Chamber. Six members of the Assembly are injured.

Nehru, Jinnah and Malaviya are all present at the time and later appear as defence witnesses in the trial.
